- First venture into Sicily: Palermo, home of Il Padrino. Are any of Shakespeare’s plays set in this city?

- Organ meat sandwiches from this tiny cart; first bite, deeply satiating and delicious, last bite, dense and heavy laden tastebuds and stomach. Nevertheless, an amazing sandwich I will never forget.

- A whole trip and a few hours in Napoli – to U.S. Consulate for temporary passport, no U.S. Consulate in all of Sicily!

- En route train from Napoli to Siracusa. At Villa S. Giovanni, the train proceeds to go on a ferry. One of the rare places left in the world you find this cool train transfer.

- No finer Sicilian cook than Mrs. Migliore. Growing up, I had many a delicious dinner next door. Now, Antonella and family are a bit farther away.

Hi Midge! Can’t believe most of that travel was in March! I’m in Finland now and it’s finally spring here. The lakes are great – still not like Glen Arbor, though! Miss seeing the lake from your place and trips for cherry pie and ice cream!
